Best sandwich in Portland! Stop by Bud's for lunch between 11am and 2pm and you will leave fat and happy and probably with leftovers! The owners and staff are great and the sandwiches (as well as the sides) are the best in Portland!
Best damn lunch and inexpensive too. Here's the stuff they do best: huge sandwiches , great soup, cole slaw, cold mug for soft drinks, even the pickles are outstanding. service is great, fast & friendly from my first visit. Sammies are better than any deli you can find. Just so you all know, I'm not a relative, financial partner or have any relationship with these folks, other than being a grateful customer. I love seeing anyone do their very best at whatever they do, and they get the job done. Stop for lunch and you won't be disappointed. Well done Bud's.
I think found my home away from home bar. I often work out of state and when I'm out of RI, I try to find a place to spend time where I feel welcome and comfortable. Bud's is that place. The day I walked in I made friends. I'm talking the kind of friends that will have you to their home kind of friends. It's a very tight group of people where everyone knows everyone. If they don't know you, they will go out of their way to get to know you. I'm here for a month or so and Bud's is my go to place. If you're lucky enough to try their lunch time deli sandwiches, you will not be disappointed. If you ever happen to get by there and you're from out of town, tell Sue (the owner) that RI Dan says hello.
